Candy Licious “teaches” aspiring taxi drivers about diversity
Drag queens and taxi drivers—how do they go together? “Everyone deserves appreciation, no matter who they are or what they want to be,” says Candy Licious, drag queen, activist, model and performer. That is why Candy Licious and Taxi 40100 are now joining forces. “I am pleased that I can contribute to the training materials of Taxi 40100’s taxi school on the topic of diversity,” says Candy Licious.
In taxi driver schools, topics such as local knowledge, fares, operating regulations, the Road Traffic Regulations, the Motor Vehicles Act and labour law are usually taught. “Topics such as communication, de-escalation strategies and diversity, on the other hand, have been neglected so far. Not at Taxi 40100: The well-being of our passengers and our drivers is important to us, and that is why we are expanding our training materials to include these points,” says Hruza.
The new subject areas are currently being incorporated into the training materials. From late autumn, the key points on communication, de-escalation and diversity will be integrated into the lessons at Taxi 40100’s taxi school.
