“The next morning I woke up feeling completely exhausted. I couldn’t remember how or when I had gotten into bed. My last memory was being on the dance floor with one of the guys – and then a total blackout.” Melina has already had experience with date rape drugs. For this reason, the taxi dispatcher Taxi 40100 and Miss Europe, singer and model Beatrice Turin, are launching a new “Safety First” security campaign for women in Vienna.
“Our job is to get people safely from A to B. But we want to go beyond that. The safety of young girls and women should not just start in the taxi, but even before that,” says Eveline Hruza, Secretary General of Taxi 40100. In the future, date rape drug test wristbands and stickers will be distributed at various events and functions, such as the “Look! Style Awards” in Lugner City on November 8.
“For me, there was no question whether I would support this campaign or not. It is very close to my heart that young women can be who they want to be and do what they want to do,” says Beatrice Turin, reigning Miss Europe, singer and model.
